Trailing spaces are truncated in an outgoing 278 EDI file when you use BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA 3.3 in BizTalk Server 2006

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006:
  • You receive an incoming Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) 278 transaction.
  • The HIPAA 278 Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transaction contains trailing spaces in the TRN03 data element.
In this situation, BizTalk Accelerator for HIPAA cannot generate a valid outgoing 278 EDI file. The trailing spaces in the outgoing 278 EDI file are truncated, which may result in invalid outgoing data.
Note The HIPAA 278 EDI transaction is for Health Care Services Review information as defined in the HIPAA.
