ERROR: Cannot Connect to Server When Using the Microsoft Forecaster Database Creation Wizard with SQL 2008 Server

Symptoms

When you use the Microsoft Forecaster Database Creation Wizard to create a Microsoft Forecaster 7.0 database on a SQL 2008 Server using a SQL 2005 Native Client, you receive the following error message:

"Cannot connect to server"
 or
The Database Creation Wizard becomes unresponsive and closes.

Resolution

Download and install the SP3 version of the SQL Server 2005 Native Client and the SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection from the following link:
