FIX: Error message when you use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 to run Transact-SQL statements in Host Integration Server 2004 and in Host Integration Server 2006: Number of host variables not valid

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004 environment, you use Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 to run Transact-SQL statements. The statements contain UNION and COUNT aggregates, and variable parameters. In this scenario, you receive an error message that resembles the following:

SQLSTATE: 07001 SQLCODE: -313. Number of host variables not valid.

Notes
  • This issue does not occur if the Transact-SQL statements do not contain a COUNT aggregate. Additionally, this issue does not occur when the first statement uses a variable parameter, and the second statement uses a fixed parameter.
  • This issue also occurs in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006.
