Windows Server Backup, the backup tool that is included with Microsoft Windows Server 2008, has the ability to create a system-state backup thru the command line using WBADMIN. When using this method to create a backup it will not update your backup status within the Small Business Server 2008 console.
This is by design as Windows Server Backup does not report status on system-state backups.
To have the backup status updated in the Small Business Server (SBS)2008 Console, perform a manual or scheduled backup using the SBS UI, the Native UI, or the WBADMIN start backup command line.
