FIX: The receive location does not use the start date and the stop date that you set in BizTalk Server

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server is running on a system that has the time zone configured to a time zone other than Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).
  • In BizTalk Server Administration, you configure the receive location to run on a specified date. To do this, you set the Start date box and the Stop date box to the same day.
In this scenario, the receive location does not use the start date and the stop date that you set.

For example, a server that has BizTalk Server installed is running in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) time zone (GMT-08:00). In BizTalk Server Administration, you configure the start date and the stop date for a receive location to April 10, 2009. In this example, the receive location works for only 16 hours from April 10, 2009 00:00 (GMT-08:00) to April 10, 2009 16:00 (GMT-08:00).

Note This scenario excludes the effect of daylight saving time.

Cause

This problem occurs because BizTalk Server performs an inconsistent conversion from local time to UTC when BizTalk Server saves the settings of the Start date box and the Stop date box.
