FIX: The VEF, GHS, SDG, and MZN currency codes are missing in Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT Message Pack 2008

Symptoms

When you use Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT Message Pack 2008 to process messages that contain the following currency codes, you receive an error message:
  • VEF
  • GHS
  • SDG
  • MZN
For example, you receive the following error message for MT942 SWIFT messages:

Cause

This problem occurs because the dbo.CurrencyCode_List table that is created during BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT Message Pack 2008 configuration does not contain a complete list of the available currency codes.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.

The Readme.txt file that is included with this hotfix provides the installation details. For more specific installation instructions, follow these steps:
  1. Back up the DBRef_FillCurrencyData.sql SQL script in the SWIFTMessagePack 2008 installation directory. By default, it is in the following location:
    drive:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2008 Message Pack\SDK\Script
  2. Install this hotfix by using the Setup.exe file in the hotfix directory.
  3. Open Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for MessagePack Configuration. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, and then click Start the Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for SWIFT 2008 Message Pack.
  4. Select Unconfigure Features.
  5. In the Unconfigure Features window, select Features to be unconfigured, and then click to select DBConfiguration.
  6. Click OK, click Yes, click Next, and then click Finish.
  7. In SQL Server Management Studio, delete the CurrencyCode_List table from the A4SWIFT database.
  8. Open Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for MessagePack Configuration again, and then select DBConfiguration.
  9. Click to clear the Do you want to create a new database group? check box.
  10. Select Apply Configuration, click Next, and then click Finish.
  11. Restart the BizTalk Service.
