An access violation occurs when you use an application that calls the SQLExecDirect function of the SQL Server ODBC driver to run a long query in Windows Server 2003 or in Windows XP

Assume that you have an application that calls the SQLExecDirect function of the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver (Sqlsrv32.dll) to run a long query. Additionally, this query contains many question marks. In this scenario, an access violation may occur.

Hotfix information for Windows XP

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
