Event ID 24 is logged when you install WMI SNMP Provider on a computer that is running an x64-based version of Windows Server 2003

Symptoms

When you install Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Provider on a computer that is running an x64-based version of Windows Server 2003, the following event is logged many times in the Application event log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: WinMgmt
Event ID: 24
Description: Event provider attempted to register query "select * from SnmpNotification" whose target class "SnmpNotification" does not exist. The query will be ignored.

Cause

This event occurs because the installation queries a path that is only populated at run time.
