A warning event is logged repeatedly on a member computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2003 R2 when you configure read-only replicated folders on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You configure read-only replicated folders on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.
  • You configure read/write replicas on some member computers that are running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2003 R2.
  • You create a replication group between the read-only replicated folders and the read/write replicas.

Cause

Read-only replicated folders do not replicate changes that are made to other member computers.

However, the member computers that are running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2003 R2 cannot recognize the error code. Additionally, the computer that is hosting the read-only replicated folders rejects further similar requests from the same member computers. Therefore, a Warning event is logged repeatedly on the member computers.
