Cause

After you run Sysprep or update the Windows 2008 server computer name, the Terminal Services Manager console may still display the previous machine name.

Resolution

Because of a MMC design change, the Terminal Services console stores some parameters in an XML file called TsAdmin under %UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC.

If this file does not exist the default TS server name comes from the following registry key:

:HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ComputerName\ActiveComputerName|ComputerName

Note In Windows Server 2003, the default computer name always comes from the ActiveComputer registry key

Disclaimer

To solve this issue close the TsAdmin console, delete the TsAdmin file: (%UserProfile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MMC), and then restart the TsAdmin console.

A new XML file will be created when you start the TsAdmin console.
