After you restore a Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V virtual machine from a backup, the virtual machine does not restart successfully. Or, the data within the virtual machine is inconsistent. When this issue occurs, you do not receive an error message.

�To resolve the issue you must remember the following:
1. When Restoring individual Virtual Machines, ensure the VM's are turned off before initiating the Restore.
2. If you are performing a full Volume Restore, and you don't need to restore Virtual Machines, de-select the running VM's from the backup set.
3. If you are performing a full Volume Restore, and you need to restore Virtual Machines, ensure the VM's are turned off before initiating the restore.
If you have restored a Virtual Machine while the VM was running, you will need to turn off the VM and perform the Restore again.
