View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you use Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you cannot create a HOST instance in BizTalk if your user account is a member of the BizTalk Server Administrators group. This problem occurs even if the BizTalk Server Administrators group in Microsoft SQL Server has the appropriate Database role membership. Your user account does not appear to inherit the database roles that are assigned to the BizTalk Server Administrators group in SQL Server.

Cause

This problem occurs because BizTalk incorrecly executes the SQL Server built-in sp_addrole stored procedure.
