View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

In an Exchange Server 2003 environment, the search operation from an Exchange client stops unexpectedly when an Exchange store includes a corrupted HTML message. Additionally, the following error message is returned:
ecCorruptData (MAPI_E_CORRUPT_DATA)
Therefore, Exchange clients, such as Outlook, obtain fewer search results from the server.

Note You may expect the Exchange server to log the error message and continue to search rest of the folder.
