Message when you select the Power saver power option during a Digital Rights Management (DRM) test in Windows Vista and in Windows Server 2008: "Sony/Philips Digital Interconnect Format (S/PDIF) Support"

On a Windows Vista-based or Windows Server 2008-based computer, you perform a Digital Rights Management (DRM) test. If you select the Balanced power option when you configure the test, you can pass the test as expected. However, if you select the Power saver power option, you receive a message that resembles the following message: In this case, you can pass the test only after you connect some audio device to the line in port or to the line out port.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
