This article discusses a hotfix which is available to view or print the digitally signed InfoPath 2007 form when the form's digital certificate expires.

When you complete a form that is based on an InfoPath 2007 form template, and then you sign the form by using a valid digital certificate, the form is not changed. If you want to view or print the form when the digital certificate expires, install hotfix 956314. Then, to enable the hotfix, add the AllowExpiredCertOnXmlValidate registry entry. To do this, follow these steps.

1. Install hotfix 956314.

2. Add the AllowExpiredCertOnXmlValidate registry entry. To do this, follow these steps:
   1. Exit the 2007 Office programs.
   2. Start Registry Editor.
      • In Windows Vista, click Start
        , type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
        
        
        If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.
      • In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
   3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\InfoPath\Security
   4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
   5. Type AllowExpiredCertOnXmlValidate, and then press ENTER.
   6. Right-click AllowExpiredCertOnXmlValidate, and then click Modify.
   7. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
   8. Exit Registry Editor.
