When you use a CDO-based application to manage calendar items in Exchange Server 2003, the application crashes intermittently

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you use a Collaboration Data Objects (CDO)-based application to manage calendar items in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, the application crashes intermittently.

Cause

This issue occurs because CDO receives an "Out-Of-Memory" error when the application reads a binary large object (BLOB) that is about 32 kilobytes (KB) on a recurring meeting request. The failure causes the application to crash because of incorrect initialization in CDO.
