Issue that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that is not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Consider the following scenario:
  • On a client computer that has Microsoft Office 2003 installed, you open a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 site or a Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site.
  • In datasheet view, you create a custom list that has a lookup column that is linked to an existing calculated column on the site.
  • In datasheet view, you try to save changes to a row. However, you do not change the data in the lookup column.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Changes to the current row cannot be saved due to invalid data or missing data in required fields.
