FIX: When you use HTTP to HTTPS redirection in ISA Server 2006, port 0 is appended to the URL

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

In Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006, you publish a Web server and enable redirection from HTTP to HTTPS. When a client tries to connect to this Web server, port 0 is appended to the URL. Therefore, if a user uses a browser other than Internet Explorer, the user will not be redirected to the correct Web server.

For example, the URL may resemble the following:
https://www.contoso.com:0/index.htm
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
  • A Web listener is configured to listen for connections on port 80 (HTTP) and port 443 (HTTPS).
  • The Web listener is configured to redirect from HTTP to Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
  • The network where the Web listener operates also has automatic discovery enabled on port 80.
Note This problem does not occur when you use Internet Explorer.
