Stop error message during restart if you enable the Force IRQL Checking setting in Driver Verifier on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition with Service Pack 2: "0x000000C4"

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • Your computer is running Windows Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition with Service Pack 2.
  • The computer has more than 37 processors.
  • You use Driver Verifier (Verifier.exe) to troubleshoot a driver issue.
  • You enable the Force IRQL Checking setting in Driver Verifier, and then you restart the computer.
In this scenario, you may receive the following Stop error message during the restart:
*** Stop: 0x000000C4 (0x00000002, 0x0000000F, 0x00000000, 0x00000080)

Workaround

To work around this problem, do not enable the Force IRQL Checking setting in Driver Verifier for computers that are running Windows Server 2003, Datacenter x64 Edition with Service Pack 2 and that have more than 37 processors.
