The Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) Synchronizer tool (Adamsync.exe) cannot synchronize attributes that use the DN-String type or DN-Binary type in Windows Server 2003

In Windows Server 2003, the Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) Synchronizer tool (Adamsync.exe) cannot synchronize attributes that use the DN-String type or the DN-Binary type. Additionally, you may receive the following error message:

This problem occurs because the Adamsync.exe tool does not support DN-String type or the DN-Binary type correctly.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
