Introduction

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issue that is not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Consider the following scenario:
  • In Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007, you create a template part (.xtp) file that contains a data connection to a SharePoint list on a SharePoint site.
  • You add the template part to multiple views of an InfoPath Form Template (.xsn) file.
  • You make the changes to the data connection in the template part, and then you save the changes and close the template part.
  • You open the InfoPath Form Template in Design View, and then you update the template part on each view.

Note You do not save the changes to the InfoPath Form Template after you update the template part on each view. Instead, you do this only after the template parts on all views are updated.
In this scenario, if you reopen the template file in the Design View in InfoPath 2007, you may receive the following error message:
The form definition (.xsf) file contains elements, attributes, or structures that are not valid.
