BizTalk Server 2006 may be unable to decode the S/MIME information in the header of an incoming MIME message that was generated by BizTalk Server 2002

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

You can use Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 to decode an S/MIME message that is generated by BizTalk Server 2002. However, for an incoming MIME message that contains an S/MIME message, the decoder may be unable to decode the S/MIME information in the header. Therefore, the decoder may produce a zero byte document. For example, the encrypted messages from BizTalk Server may contain the 'application/x-pkcs' reference in the MIME header and in the signed part header.
