FIX: The WCF service that is generated may cause the IIS worker process to crash in a BizTalk Server 2006 R2 environment

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 environment, you use a schema together with a circular reference in an orchestration. You expose the orchestration as a Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service by using the BizTalk WCF Service Publishing Wizard. Then, you browse to the WCF service. In this scenario, the WCF service that is generated may cause the Internet Information Services (IIS) worker process to crash.

Cause

This problem occurs because the schema is imported repeatedly because of the circular reference. Therefore, the IIS worker process consumes more memory until the IIS worker process crashes.
