Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In the printing preferences for a printer, you select the staple type to be applied on the printer. In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, you try to print multiple copies of an e-mail message by using the printer. Each copy of the e-mail message is more than one page. In this scenario, all the copies of the e-mail message are stapled together. You expect each copy of the e-mail message to be stapled individually.

To resolve this problem, apply hotfix package 953925, and then configure the HonorCopying registry entry to enable the hotfix package. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Apply hotfix package 953925. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

  2. Configure the HonorCopying registry entry. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Printing
    3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    4. Type HonorCopying, and then press ENTER.
    5. Right-click HonorCopying, and then click Modify.
    6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    7. Exit Registry Editor.
