You may find that an MQSAgent COM+ application disappears after you upgrade to BizTalk Server 2006 or to BizTalk Server 2006 R2

Symptoms

After you upgrade to Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 or to Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 from an earlier version of BizTalk Server, you may find that one of the following applications is removed from the COM+ catalog on the computer that is running MQSeries Server:
  • The MQSeries Agent (MQSAgent)
  • MQSAgent2 COM+
Note Earlier versions of BizTalk server to which this article applies include the following:
  • Prerelease versions of BizTalk Server 2006 R2
  • Prerelease versions of BizTalk Server 2006
  • BizTalk Server 2004

Cause

This problem occurs because the MQSConfigWiz.exe file is not installed when you upgrade to BizTalk Server 2006 or to BizTalk Server 2006 R2.

Note This file is the executable for the COM+ Configuration Wizard.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, rerun the BizTalk Server 2006 setup after you upgrade to BizTalk Server 2006 or to BizTalk Server 2006 R2. When you rerun the setup, select the Modify option, and then select MQSeries Agent under Additional Software to install the components.

Additionally, when you upgrade from a prerelease version of BizTalk Server 2006 or of BizTalk Server 2006 R2 to BizTalk Server 2006 R2, the MQSAgent2 COM+ application may be not be configured. In this case, you must rerun the COM+ Configuration Wizard to configure the MQSAgent2 COM+ application.
