View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You use the Fax Service API to query incoming fax messages on a fax server that is running Windows Server 2003 or Windows XP.
  • You use the IFaxIncomingMessageIterator interface and the MoveNext method to move the iterator forward.
  • You move the iterator past the last fax message in the fax archive. Therefore, the AtEOF method of the IFaxIncomingMessageIterator interface returns "True."
In this scenario, a memory leak occurs.

More information

Client applications use the IFaxIncomingMessageIterator interface to move through the archive of incoming fax messages that the Fax Service successfully received. The IFaxIncomingMessageIterator interface is a forward iterator. Therefore, you can only move the iterator forward through the archive from the beginning of the archive to the end of the archive. Additionally, you can access only one fax message at a time.
