Symptoms

On a computer that is running the Russian version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) or the Russian version of Windows Server 2008, two options in the Customize Advanced Key Exchange Settings dialog box are truncated. These options appear in the Key exchange algorithms section. Because these two options are truncated, it may appear that there are two duplicate options in this section.

Note These two options are the first two options in the Key exchange algorithms section of the Customize Advanced Key Exchange Settings dialog box. The following is the complete text of these two options:
  • Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman P-384
Strongest security, highest resources usage. Compatible only with Windows Vista and later systems.
  • Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman P-256
Stronger security, medium resource usage. Compatible only with Windows Vista and later systems.

Workaround

These two options are truncated when the font size is set to 120 dots per inch (dpi). However, the options appear correctly when you set the font size to 96 dpi.

To work around this problem, set the font size to 96 dpi. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click desktop, and then click Personalize.
  2. In the tasks pane, click Adjust font size (DPI).

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.
  3. In the DPI Scaling dialog box, click Default scale (96-DPI) fit more information, and then click OK.
  4. Restart the computer.
