When you dynamically add a system board on a Windows Server 2008-based computer, the driver for the system board processor does not work correctly

You perform the following operations on a PRIMEQUEST-based computer that is running Windows Server 2008:

• You create a partition that includes system board 0 and system board 1.
• You dynamically replace system board 1 by using another spare board (system board 2).
• You dynamically add system board 1 to the partition.

In this scenario, the processor driver for the processor on system board 1 does not work correctly. Additionally, an exclamation mark (!) may appear next to the device node of the processor in Device Manager.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
