A base catalog name may be appended to the value of the PrimaryParentCategory field when you export a virtual catalog to an XML file in Commerce Server 2007

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you export a virtual catalog to an XML file in Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, a base catalog name may be appended to the value of the PrimaryParentCategory field. For example, if the value of the PrimaryParentCategory field is "ShirtsCategory," and the base catalog name is "Shirts," the XML file may contain the following entry.
<Product Definition="Cloth" ProductId="MyShirt" UseCategoryPricing="0" PrimaryParentCategory="ShirtsCategory(Shirts)".. ...../>
The resulting XML file is not valid. When you import the XML file, you receive the following error message:
One or more import, export, or rebuild operations that performed have not completed successfully. See the Status view for further details.
