Error message when you add a contract detail to a contract in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0: "The start or end date is not valid"

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, you add a contract detail to a contract. When you save the contract detail, you receive the following error message: This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:

• The time zone in which the contract detail is added differs from the time zone in which the contract is created.
• The contract detail contains an active date that is the same as the active date of the contract.
• The contract detail contains an expiration date that is the same as the expiration date of the contract.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.
