The Resource Monitor may crash on a Windows Server 2003-based cluster node that has Windows Server 2003 SP2 or hotfix 921181 installed

Symptoms

The Resource Monitor (Resrcmon.exe) may crash on a Windows Server 2003-based cluster node. In this situation, all resources in the cluster group must be restarted. Additionally, applications that rely on the cluster may not work correctly. Also, the Cluster.log file may contain information that resembles the following:

This problem may occur if one of the following software packages is installed on the Windows Server 2003-based cluster node:
  • Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2
  • Hotfix 921181

Hotfix information
