Note Updated Help is available only in the English version of Update Rollup 3.
Installation information
Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 3 overwrites the existing Help files on the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server.
If you have customized the default Help files for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0, the customizations are overwritten during the installation process.
Note HTML files that you have added beyond the default set of files are not affected.
By default, Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Help files are installed in the following location on the server:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\CRMWeb\Help\PRO\Content\
Important If you have customized the HTML files for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Help, back up the files to another folder before you install this update. After you install the update, replace the updated Help file with the original customized Help file, or merge the customizations with the updated content.
Functional mapping between Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and individual Help files is stored in the Help table of contents file. This file is Help_toc.xml. By default, the Help_toc.xml file is installed in the following location on the server:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\CRMWeb\Help\PRO\help_toc.xml
If you customized the Help_toc.xml file, back up the file to another location before you install this update. Because the Help_toc.xml file includes critical functionality that links the application with the Help program, you must merge any customizations with the updated version of this file.
Important If you overwrite the updated version of the Help_toc.xml file with a customized version from a previous release, you may break the association between Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 and the Help program.
