Error message when you try to install Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 on a computer that is running SharePoint Server 2007: "Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Enterprise Edition, must be installed"

Symptoms

When you try to install Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 on a computer that is running Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Enterprise Edition, must be installed before you install Business Portal.
When this problem occurs, the following message is logged in Windows Event Viewer:
Product: Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 or Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, Enterprise Edition, must be installed before you install Business Portal.

Cause

This problem occurs if you try to install Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 on a computer that is not running SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition. Business Portal is compatible with only SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition. Business Portal is incompatible with SharePoint Server 2007 Standard Edition.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, verify which edition of SharePoint Server 2007 is installed. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. In Administrative Tools, click SharePoint Central Administration.
  2. Click the Operations tab.
  3. Click Convert License Type.

    Note If SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition is not installed, you must install this edition before you install Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0.
