To resolve this problem, use the Tapicfg.exe tool in Windows Server 2003 to configure or to delete the application partitions that are created for IP telephony. Do this before you upgrade to Windows Server 2008.
To use the Tapicfg.exe tool to delete the application partitions that are created for IP telephony, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
- At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
tapicfg remove /directory:PartitionName
Note In this command, PartitionName is a placeholder for the Domain Name System (DNS) name of the application partitions that you want to delete. This DNS name must be a fully qualified domain name.
