Error message when you upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 in certain language versions: "One or more version 3.0 reports were not upgraded"

Symptoms

When you upgrade from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:
One or more version 3.0 reports were not upgraded. For details, see the Server Setup log file, crm40svrsetup.log.

Cause

This problem occurs because the following reports are not upgraded from Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 in the language versions that are listed in parentheses.
  • Competitor Win Loss.rdl (Chinese, Japanese)
  • Competitor Win Loss.rdl (English, Japanese, Swedish)
  • Neglected Cases.rdl (French, Hebrew, Swedish)
  • Neglected Leads.rdl (French)
  • Top Knowledge Base Articles Detail.rdl (Chinese, Czech, English, French, Japanese, Turkish)

Resolution

To resolve this problem, use the replacement report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0.

Note If customizations are required, you have to modify the report.

More information

Some Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 reports do not work correctly after you upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. This problem occurs in custom reports when any of the following conditions is true:
  • The report was modified to use expressions for linking.
  • The report was modified to use stored procedures.
  • The report contains "multiple parent linking" relationships.
  • The report contains "circular parent linking" relationships.
For more information about the reports that do not upgrade successfully, see the Crm40Setup.log file. By default, the Crm40Setup.log file is in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\"Installing User"\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Logs
