Update details
Changes that the update makes
This update changes the SQL Server service that is installed with Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 to start only when the service is required. This change prevents the SQL Server service from using computer resources if the Business Contact Manager features are not used.
The first time that you use a Business Contact Manager feature, the SQL Server service is started. A progress bar is displayed on the screen to show that the SQL Server service is starting.
The SQL Server service is stopped automatically when the following conditions are true:
- Data is not added to any forms in the Business Contact Manager features.
- Microsoft Office Accounting 2007 or Microsoft Office Accounting 2008 is not installed.
- You exit Outlook 2007.
The next time that you use a Business Contact Manager feature, the SQL Server service is restarted.
If you add data and save data in Business Contact Manager, the SQL Server service is set to start automatically when the computer starts. The service will continue to run, even after you exit Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007. This behavior makes sure that the SQL Server service is available immediately when a Business Contact Manager feature needs it.
Note The changes that are made by this update are enabled except when a Business Contact Manager feature shares an instance of SQL Server with Office Accounting. If Office Accounting is installed, the SQL Server service starts and runs when the computer is running.
