Error message when you try to run the Search function in a List Web part in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0: "An error has occurred. This Web part could not be displayed"

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. You create a connection between two List Web parts for Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Then, in a List Web part, you type some characters in the Look for box. Next, you click Find to run the Search function. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
An error has occurred. This Web part could not be displayed. Some of the parameters that are required to connect these Web Parts are missing or have unexpected values. The columns this connection depends on may have been deleted or rename.

Resolution

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 3.

Installation information

To apply this hotfix, follow these steps:
  1. Uninstall the existing List Web part.
  2. Save the contents of this hotfix to the Windows SharePoint Services server.
  3. Install the new List Web part by double-clicking the listwebpart.msi file.
  4. Rebuild the Microsoft Dynamics CRM List Web part. To do this, see the "Add the List Web Part to an existing Windows SharePoint Services Web Part page" section on the following Microsoft Web site:
Install this hotfix on computers that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server components or that are running the Microsoft Dynamics CRM client for Microsoft Office Outlook components.

Prerequisites

You must have Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 installed to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

If you are prompted to restart the computer, you must restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

Removal information
