FIX: The Log Shipping feature may not restore database backup files in BizTalk Server 2006 or in BizTalk Server 2006 R2

Symptoms

In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 or in BizTalk Server 2006 R2, the Log Shipping feature cannot restore any database backup files unless the following conditions are true:
  • The complete set of physical backup files exists.
  • None of the backup files are corrupted.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. There are two versions of this hotfix:

You must have BizTalk Server 2006 or BizTalk Server 2006 R2 installed to apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix.

You must apply this hotfix on the BizTalk server to replace the existing LogShipping_Destination_Logic.sql file in the following folder:
Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006\Schema
In an existing BizTalk Server environment that is configured for the Log Shipping feature, follow these steps:
  1. Apply the hotfix on the BizTalk Server computer.
  2. On the destination Microsoft SQL Server, execute the LogShipping_Destination_Logic.sql query.
In an existing BizTalk Server environment that has not been configured for the Log Shipping feature, follow these steps:
  1. Apply the hotfix on the BizTalk Server computer.
  2. Configure the Log Shipping feature by following the steps that are described at the following Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) Web site:
