To apply this hotfix, you must have Windows XP SP2 installed on the computer.

How to back up and restore the registry in Windows
After you apply this hotfix on a 32-bit operating system, you must edit the registry to enable the hotfix. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
Note On a Windows Vista-based computer, click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER. - Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key.
- Type FEATURE_IEM_POPUP_BLOCKER_USER_ALLOW_KB944520, and then press ENTER.
- On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type *, and then press ENTER.
- On the Edit menu, click Modify.
- In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
- Exit Registry Editor.
