Result



Client cannot access HTTPS web site through ISA 2006.

If you check Network Monitor trace, you will find the ISA server side responds a HTTP 400 Bad Request to the client. This usually indicates SSL is attached with the Web Proxy filter.

Cause



Web proxy filter is bound to HTTPS protocol.

To verify whether this is the problem, please follow the steps below.

1. Go to Firewall Policy, on the right pane, click Toolbox tab, expand Protocols.

2. Right click HTTPs protocol, click Properties, verify if Web Proxy Filter is checked.

3. If Web Proxy Filter is checked, that can be the cause of the problem.

Resolution



Detach web proxy filter from HTTPS protocol.

To do so, please follow the steps below:

1. Go to Firewall Policy, on the right pane, click Toolbox tab, expand Protocols.

2. Right click HTTPS protocol, click Properties, uncheck Web Proxy Filter.

Moreinformation



By default, Web Proxy Filter only attached with HTTP protocol but not HTTPS protocol. If Web Proxy Filter is attached with HTTPS protocol, it will grasp the HTTPS traffic but cannot handle it correctly.
