Tasks are unexpectedly deleted even though they are not past their age limit in an Exchange Server 2003 environment

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 environment, you use the Microsoft Outlook client in Cached Exchange Mode to access a mailbox and to create tasks. When you do this, the tasks are unexpectedly deleted. This occurs even though the tasks are not past their age limit.

Cause

This problem occurs because the msExchMailboxManagerAgeLimit attribute is set to a value of 3.

Workaround

To work around this problem, configure the Outlook client to work in online mode but not in non-cached mode.
