FIX: You may experience time-outs when you use a receive location to connect to a WCF service and you use the WCF request-response adapter in BizTalk Server 2006 R2

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2, you use a receive location to connect to a Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) service. You use the WCF request-response adapter. The processing time of the service exceeds 10 minutes. In this scenario, you may experience time-outs.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next software update that contains this hotfix.

After you install this hotfix, the time-out now uses a default value of 20 minutes, exactly like all other request-response adapters. This value can be modified by using the
MessagingReqRespTTL
registry subkey. For more information about the
