Symptoms

When you follow the steps in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 920209 to deploy Kerberos Constrained Delegation (KCD) in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 front-end and back-end environment, the Server Principle Name (SPN) list on the front-end server is not updated. Hotfix information

Prerequisites

Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) must be installed before you apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix. However, the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant, the Microsoft Search service, the IIS Admin Service, and all dependent services are restarted when you apply this hotfix.

This hotfix does not replace a previously released hotfix.

To verify the SPN list of the front-end server, use the Active Directory Service Interfaces (ADSI) Edit tool (Adsiedit.msc). To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start the ADSI Edit tool. To do this, click Start, click Run, type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.

    Note The ADSI Edit tool is part of the Windows Server 2003 Support Tools package. To install this package, double-click Suptools.msi in the Support\Tools folder on the Windows Server 2003 CD.
  2. Right-click the computer object for the front-end server, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Attribute Editor tab, examine the msDS-AllowedToDelegateTo entry in the Attributes list.
