Symptoms

Microsoft Windows Code Name "Longhorn" Beta 3 includes support for maintaining disk and storage settings during an upgrade. However, after you upgrade Microsoft Windows Code Name "Longhorn" Beta 3 to Microsoft Windows Code Name "Longhorn" Release Candidate 0 (RC0), disk and storage settings are lost, and you experience the following symptoms.

Symptom 1

If the system has shared disks, the shared disks of the following bus types do not automatically come online after the upgrade:
iSCSI
SCSI
Fibre Channel
SAS

Symptom 2

If the system has multiple physical paths to a target storage array, the storage settings are lost after the upgrade. Such physical paths include the following paths:
iSCSI
Fibre Channel
SAS

Symptom 3

If the system has Microsoft Internet Storage Name Service (iSNS) Server installed, the storage settings are lost after the upgrade.

This problem occurs not only on a domain controller but also on all Windows Server roles.
