FIX: Error message when you try to stop the BizTalk service in BizTalk Server 2006: "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006, a Microsoft Message Queuing (also known as MSMQ) receive location is enabled. You try to stop the BizTalk service. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
ControlService FAILED 1053:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
Additionally, the following events are logged in the Application log.
Event 1

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7011
Description:
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the BTSSvc$BizTalkServerApplication service.

Event 2

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: BizTalk Server 2006
Event Category: BizTalk Server 2006
Event ID: 5740
Description:
The adapter "MSMQ" raised an error message. Details "Thread was being aborted.".

Resolution

Hotfix information
