Introduction

A hotfix rollup package is available for Microsoft Management Console (MMC) in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, and in Windows Vista. This hotfix rollup package resolves the following issues that occur when you use an MMC snap-in.

Issue 1

The MMC snap-in exits unexpectedly, and you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual C++

Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: <path>\mmc.exe abnormal program termination

Issue 2

Some items on a shortcut menu are missing when you right-click an item in an MMC snap-in. For example, when you use Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007, and then you right-click the Task Sequences node, the following menu items are missing:
  • New
  • Import
  • Create Task Sequence Media
  • Give feedback
These menu items appear only if you right-click this node again.

Issue 3

When you drag a view in an MMC snap-in and then drop the view, the drag-and-drop operation fails. However, the view does not appear in the parent location or in the target location. In this situation, the view is missing until you update the MMC snap-in window.
