- You have a Windows Server 2003-based member server.
- On the member server, you try to access a Distributed File System (DFS) root in the DFS Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in.
The specified DFS root does not exist.
You may experience this issue if the following conditions are true:
- The member server that hosted the DFS root was taken offline. Additionally, the member server computer account was deleted.
- A new member server is brought online that uses the same computer name as the member server that was taken offline.
