Symptoms

On a Windows Server 2003-based computer that is using version 5.2.3790.4021 of the Microsoft Storport storage driver, you may experience the following problems:
  • Microsoft Management Console (MMC) stops responding after you open it.
  • You cannot access Virtual Disk Service (VDS)-dependent tools such as the Share and Storage Management snap-in or the Storage Manager for SANs (SMfS).

  • An Itanium-based version of Windows Server 2003 with SP1 or with SP2
  • An x64-based version of Windows Server 2003
