FIX: A price is saved incorrectly as 0 when you try to update the price in the Commerce Server 2007 Catalog Manager

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. On a server that is running Microsoft Commerce Server 2007, you use a customized number locale setting in the Regional and Language Options dialog box. You set the decimal symbol for numbers to a value that is same as the value of the digit grouping symbol for currency. You try to update a price in the Commerce Server 2007 Catalog Manager. In this scenario, the price is saved incorrectly as 0.

Cause

This problem occurs because of the limitation of the Number.TryParse object in the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. When the Catalog Manager parses a price and the decimal symbol for numbers is set to a value that is same as the value of the digit grouping symbol for currency, the parse operation assumes the digit grouping symbol as a decimal symbol.
