If unpartitioned space is available on a shared drive, you can use a mount point to move the files and folders to a different partition. To do this, follow these steps:
- Take the Microsoft Search resource offline.
- Stop the Microsoft Search service on both cluster nodes.
To do this, click Start, click Run, type net stop mssearch, and then click OK.
- Rename the ExchangeServer_Virtual_Server_Name folder. By default, this folder is in the following location:
C:\Program Files\ExchSrvr\
- In the same parent folder as the original ExchangeServer_Virtual_Server_Name folder, create a partition as a mount point that has the name "ExchangeServer_Virtual_Server_Name."
